TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13TH Psalm 121:1-5 (NIV)

Don’t Worry…Trust Me by: Chris Blacksmith

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot slip. He who watches over you will not slumber;  indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord watches over you.”

Several years ago someone penned the words of a famous anthem for life. “Don’t Worry, Be Happy…”  Why is it that we worry? I suppose fear, uncertainty, loss, and rejection are among some of the greatest reasons, but what is the core reason we worry?  Let me be the first to admit, I worry because I fail to trust God. David was experiencing a moment where he needed help beyond his control. He was the king, where could he go for help?  Where else would he go but to the Lord who made Heaven and Earth!  When everything around you is uncertain just remember David’s declaration of God in verse 3, “He will not let your foot slip. He who watches over you will not slumber.”

Takeaway:  Worry is like a rocking chair. You can do it all day but it won’t get you anywhere.  What is it that you worry about? What have you done to overcome your worry?  Take a few minutes today and renew your trust in the Lord.  He would tell you, “Don’t WorryTrust Me
