I’m not afraid of much. My wife will tell you that I’m not afraid of anything, but, honestly, that’s probably because she’s scared of A LOT!! I do, however, have a healthy amount of fear and respect for my God. In fact, one of the most terrifying things in the world, to me, is spoken my Jesus in Matthew 7 in what we commonly refer to as the “Sermon on the Mount.” Verses 21-23 talk about people who, at the end of their lives, will call on Jesus’ name only to hear, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness (v.23 ESV).” Scary stuff! So, how can you be certain you won’t hear those words? Verses 15-20 tell us that we must be recognized by our “fruits.” Similarly, verses 24-27 tell us to build our houses (lives) on the rock (Jesus). If you are His, BEAR GOOD FRUIT! Remain grounded and firmly attached to THE ROCK. If not, I pray you give Him your life TODAY! I can think of nothing worse than being told by Jesus, “Depart from me.” If you have questions about how that works, PLEASE ASK!!! Let’s all hear Him say, “WELL DONE!”
